It seems like common sense, but you’d be surprised how many motorcycle enthusiasts refuse to wear the proper protection when riding Victory bikes. Though there are some motorcyclists out there who — for some reason — know what gear they need to have and wear, but refuse to do so, many others simply don’t know that they’re supposed to protect themselves as they ride Victory bikes.
To help you be a safer, smarter motorcyclist, here are a few of the most important pieces of gear you and other motorcyclists like yourself need to have when cruising on Victory bikes.
Helmet.
Again, this should be a no-brainer, but again, you’d be surprised how many motorcyclists don’t wear helmets when speeding along on their Victory bikes. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, helmets are 37% effective in preventing fatalities, and about 67% effective in preventing brain injuries. Basically, if you want to stay safe, you need to wear a helmet.
Jacket.
Motorcyclists need to wear jackets, even if it’s hot out. Jackets, particularly leather ones, prevent road rash in the event of a crash, as well as sunburn and windburn. Plus, a light colored jacket will reflect the light, making the motorcycle more visible.
Boots.
Boots are perhaps one of the most underrated pieces of safety gear motorcyclists can wear when riding Victory bikes. Not only do they provide foot and ankle support while riding, they also protect those parts of the body in the event of a crash. Plus, they make riding much more easy.
In addition to Victory bikes, Many Triumph Victory motorcycle dealers sell some of the best protective equipment equipment. If you’re in need of a new helmet, jacket, or other piece of protective equipment, be sure to head to your local dealer and check out their prices.
