Having a car is important for the vast majority of adults living here in the United States, as ample systems of public transportation tend to be confined to city and metropolitan areas, and sometimes not even then. Having a car gives you freedom, it gives you mobility. It gives you the ability to get to where you need to go when you need to be there.
But having a car has a number of downsides as well. For one thing, owning a car is expensive. For starters, you’re likely to have car payments, as the average new car now costs more than $30,000, an amount that most people can’t pay without taking out some type of auto loan. On top of that, gas prices are ever rising, no matter where you go in this country. If you use your car on a daily basis, it’s likely that you’re using up a lot of gas as well.
Fortunately, electric cars that utilize an EV charging solution or EV charging network are becoming more popular than ever before here in the United States, providing a viable alternative to the typical gas guzzling vehicle, an even better alternative than most hybrid cars out there. In fact, owning an electric vehicle that utilized EV charging networks as an EV charging solution is incredibly cost effective, equatable to paying only around a single dollar for a gallon of gas.
In addition to this already low cost of maintaining an electric car with an EV charging solution, the government of the United States is offering incentive for people to get one, to trade in their current car for an electric one that will run after being charged through the use of EV stations and other such vehicle charging stations. And it’s quite a high amount too, surpassing $7,000 in tax credits, as offered by the United States Department of Energy. For many people, this is compelling enough of a reason to switch over to driving an electric car that runs through the use of an EV charging solutions like a vehicle charging station.
After all, electric cars are on the rise here in the United States, with more than 800,000 people driving them as their primary vehicle at the current date. There are also now more than 24 models of electric vehicles currently up for sale, meaning that there is likely at least one electric car out there for everybody, even for those who consider themselves to be skeptics of the electric car. And where once driving an electric car was more than difficult thanks to the lack of EV charging solution throughout the country, this is something that is changing rapidly as the years progress.
In fact, charging stations that provide an EV charging solution are more common now than they have ever been before, with more than 20,000 such charging sites located all throughout the entirety of the country. And while some of these charging sites are privately owned and privately used, many – more than 86% percent of them – are open for use by the general public, the electric car drivers of this country.
And though electric car drivers still make up a very small percentage of total car drivers, this is likely to change in the years that are to come. After all, driving the cars that we drive today is simply not sustainable in the long term. Not only are they expensive to buy and to own, but they’re incredibly detrimental to the environment as well, while electric cars are much less so. With our planet currently in danger, many people are looking for ways that they can help to save it, ways that they can make a truly impactful change.
Switching over to driving an electric vehicle is likely to be that change for many, and it has even been estimated that electric car sales alone will make up more than 50% of all car sales seen in the United States by the time that we reach the year of 2040, now just over 20 years away. Of course, many people will like the lowered cost of such vehicles as well.
