Three Tips for Planning Any School Bus Trip

Charter bus services are probably the best way for any group to travel; not only are coach buses incredibly easy to rent out, but they’re also one of the most affordable transportation options.

That being said, traveling on a school trip with dozens of students — regardless of how you’re traveling — is necessarily going to be stressful and hectic. Here are a few tips to help you plan and organize the charter bus transportation part of your next school trip:

  1. Charter bus lines typically have a variety of coach bus sizes available for group trips, so it’s a good idea to figure out exactly how many people will be on your trip before you make any final plans for transportation. By working with a company that has multiple sizes of buses, you’ll ensure that you get the lowest possible rates without sacrificing safety and comfort.

  2. It’s a good idea to let your charter bus company know in advance if you’ll need to make extra stops on trip, either for food/bathroom breaks or just to see some tourist attractions. Bus companies typically plan out a certain number of rest stops per trip, but they’re usually pretty flexible when it comes to adding extra stops. Keep in mind that the service will have planned out the fastest route — even if it doesn’t look like it — so you don’t have to plan out that part of your trip yourself.

  3. Finally, it’s always important to remember that entertainment and food are the best ways to keep a bus full of school kids happy! Most charter bus services come with bathrooms on board, and many newer buses even have wi-fi and entertainment systems to play movies. It’s also a good idea to be equipped with plenty of snacks and drinks to stave off hunger in between meals, but just remember to bring trash bags and to keep the bus as clean as possible!

Now it’s your turn — what tips would you give to someone else planning a school trip and using a charter bus service? Feel free to leave any comments or questions below!
