Right now, the Ford Fusion 2012 midsize sedan, for example, has a rebate offered of up to $2,500 off the total cost.

3. If You Have an Old Car, Sell it at a Different Time

Many people decide to bring in their old car for a trade in. This can seem like a good way to get rid of your grandma’s hand-me-down clunker.
